Posterior composite restorations are a bread-and-butter procedure in general dentistry, yet long-term success relies on many clinical factors. This course reviews evidence-based techniques for diagnosis, isolation, caries removal, cavity preparation, liner use, matrix and wedge placement, bonding, composite placement, and finishing and polishing. Participants will examine treatment guidelines for interproximal caries and removal endpoints, explore materials and methods to strengthen adhesive bonds and achieve well-adapted restorations, and analyze matrix use and contouring instruments to ensure tight, well-contoured contacts.
