This course will discuss the selection and use of implant components, torque wrenches, impressions, restoration designs/materials, and delivery. Various implant systems will be covered. Leave feeling confident about using implant drivers and torque wrenches, selecting and using implant impression components, and the selection and delivery of implant restorations for single units.

Learn how to address the most common prosthetic implant complications in partially edentulous treatments including loose / stripped / broken screws, progression of open contacts and short anterior crowns, “screwmentable” complications, cement induced peri-implantitis, and more. Each complication topic discussed will cover frequency of occurrence, common causes, strategies for prevention, and management. 

The rescue and retreatment of previously problematic implant cases in the aesthetic zone creates significant challenges, risks and limitations. This lecture will be a case series of aesthetic zone implant patients with various problems, such as: gingival recession, failed grafts, extensive bone loss, failing implants and more. Various protocols and techniques for complicated case management will be detailed. Attendees will learn about implant complication management and expectations from the restorative perspective.

This lecture will provide the practitioner with an understanding of the technique of immediate implant placement and immediate provisionalization along with the long-term benefits to esthetics.  Successful outcomes for implants in the aesthetic zone require not just osseointegration of the implant fixture itself, but also creation of appropriate gingival architecture and selection and fabrication of an abutment / crown system that balances aesthetic and functional demands. Temporary techniques, cementation protocols, abutment / crown selection, impression techniques, emergence profiles, and gingival shaping will be discussed.
