Hinman 2017: The Changing Face of Dentistry
Posted: 4/28/2016

The 105th Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting will be here before you know it! Held next year on March 23-25, the meeting theme is “The Changing Face of Dentistry.” The general chairman is Dr. Jane Puskas, Hinman’s first woman dentist to lead the meeting.

“The theme of the meeting says it all. Hinman 2017 will focus on the changing face of dentistry and how we can take advantage of technology and medical advancements to deliver the best possible care to our patients,” Dr. Puskas said. “We’ll celebrate our past, but we will also celebrate change in our profession with more contemporary techniques, more diversity and more tools at our fingertips.”

In honor of next year’s theme, Dr. Puskas had a painting of Dr. Thomas P. Hinman commissioned by Stephan Lyall Penley, a famous Atlanta area artist. “The painting of Dr. Hinman is from an original photo, but it depicts him in a modern, contemporary style that also demonstrates how far we’ve come in the last 104 years,” Dr. Puskas added.

Planning for Hinman 2017 has been under way for the past three years and will feature many fan-favorite speakers, including Drs. Gordon Christensen, Robert Edwab, John Svirsky and Harold Crossley. In addition, many of dentistry’s most prominent women dentists will speak, including: Drs. Rella Christensen, Mollie Winston, Barbara Steinberg, Linda Niessen and Lee Ann Brady. The program also will include many new speakers, including several affiliated with Spear Education, Drs. Jim Janakievski, Greg Kinzer and Ricardo Mitrani.
