The Atlanta Apparel Mart is typically only open to trade professionals, but will be open to registered Hinman attendees showing a name badge and ticket. Registrants are allowed to enter showrooms that display a "Samples" sign only. Enter the Mart at the corner of Spring Street and Harris Street. Look for signs near the escalator to the left of the Apparel Mart Exhibit Hall entrance.

All showrooms may not be open – days and times vary. Showrooms do not accept credit cards.

Take the Hinman shuttle from the main entrance of the GWCC to the Days Inn. The Apparel Mart is located directly across the street (250 Spring Street).

Tickets for this event must be purchased prior to the meeting or at the Ticket Sales desk in the Registration Hall.

GEORGIA AQUARIUM GENERAL ADMISSION

Hinman attendees who pre-register are invited to visit the Georgia Aquarium at a discounted rate. Don’t miss your chance to see the world’s largest aquarium, home to eight million gallons of fresh and marine water! Special convention tickets are available for adults ($23.50), children ages 3 – 12 ($17.50), and seniors age 55 and above ($19.25) until February 25 through the Hinman pre-registration process only. These tickets are non-refundable and are good for one-time admittance, Thursday, March 25 (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.), Friday, March 26 (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.), and Saturday, March 27 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.). The last entry will be permitted no later than one hour before closing and no appointment time is necessary. Visit www.georgiaaquarium.org for more information about the aquarium.

While you’re there, visit the aquarium’s new exhibit, Planet Shark: Predator or Prey! This exhibit is the most comprehensive and innovative "out of water" shark exhibition to tour the world. The ticket price for this exhibit is $8 and can be purchased at a ticket kiosk inside the aquarium.

Note: Discounted tickets are available only through February 25 as part of the Hinman pre-registration process. Tickets requested after February 25 must be ordered through www.georgiaaquarium.org and will not be discounted.

Aquarium tickets will not be mailed to you in your registration packet; you will receive a Hinman ticket instead. Please exchange your Hinman ticket for your aquarium ticket at the Concurrent Meetings desk located in the registration area in the Georgia World Congress Center before making your way to the aquarium. The aquarium is located at 225 Baker Street NW.

Join us for the official opening ceremony of the Hinman Dental Meeting! Doors and cash bar open at 5:00 p.m. with a musical prelude until 5:30 p.m. The Keynote Session introduces the meeting’s Featured Clinicians and Keynote Speaker, Frank W. Abagnale.

Marvin C. Goldstein Memorial Lecture

This session is sponsored by the Atlanta chapter of the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity in cooperation with the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting. The Fraternity has dedicated this lectureship in memory of Dr. Marvin C. Goldstein.

Frank W. Abagnale is one of the world’s most respected authorities on the subjects of forgery, embezzlement and secure documents. For over 30 years he has lectured to and consulted with hundreds of financial institutions, corporations and government agencies around the world.

His rare blend of knowledge and expertise began as a teenager. More than 40 years ago he was known as one of the world’s most famous confidence men as depicted in his best-selling book, “Catch Me If You Can.” He cashed $2.5 million in fraudulent checks in every state and 26 foreign countries over a five-year period. Between the ages of 16 and 21, he successfully posed as an airline pilot, an attorney, a college professor and a pediatrician.

Apprehended by the French police when he was 21 years old, he served time in the French, Swedish and U.S. prison systems. After five years, he was released on the condition that he would help the federal government, without remuneration, by teaching and assisting federal law enforcement agencies.

Mr. Abagnale has been associated with the FBI for over 30 years. He lectures extensively at the FBI Academy and the field offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. More than 14,000 financial institutions, corporations and law enforcement agencies use his fraud prevention programs. Mr. Abagnale’s most recent book, “Stealing Your Life,” was released in April 2007 by Random House. He also has written “The Art of the Steal,” “The Real U Guide to Identity Theft” and “The Bankers’ Document Verification and Currency Transaction Manual.” Mr. Abagnale was the subject of a major motion picture entitled “Catch Me If You Can,” directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.

 

KEYNOTE PRIZES

All paid registrants are eligible for and must be present to win two sets of Delta Air Lines tickets to anywhere in the continental United States. Total monetary value of each pair of tickets not to exceed $1,000. One set will be awarded to a dentist and the other set to an auxiliary. Deposit the appropriate ticket (included in your registration packet) in the hopper when entering the auditorium beginning at 5:00 p.m. for a chance to win. The Keynote Session begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. Tickets must be deposited in the hopper prior to 5:25 p.m.
