Georgia Aquarium - the World's Largest!
General Admission Hinman attendees who pre-register are invited to visit the Georgia Aquarium at a discounted rate. Don’t miss your chance to see the world’s largest aquarium, home to eight million gallons of fresh and marine water! Special convention tickets are available for adults ($23.50), children ages 3 – 12 ($17.50), and seniors age 55 and above ($19.25) until February 19 through the Hinman pre-registration process only. These tickets are non-refundable and are good for one-time admittance, Thursday, March 19 (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.), Friday, March 20 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.), and Saturday, March 21 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.). The last entry will be permitted no later than one hour before closing and no appointment time is necessary.
Titanic Aquatic Exhibit
Immerse yourself in the legend with this new exhibit! Hinman attendees who pre-register are invited to see the Titanic Aquatic Exhibit at a discounted rate. The Georgia Aquarium, in association with RMS Titanic, Inc., invites you to experience the mysterious, tragic story of one of the most famous ships in history. The exhibit includes a vast collection of more than 190 artifacts recovered from Titanic’s debris including 40 that have never been seen before. Dramatic room re-creations and interactive displays are sure to keep your attention! Special convention tickets are available for adults ($31.50), children ages 3 – 12 ($25.50), and seniors age 55 and above ($27.25) until February 19 through the Hinman pre-registration process only. Ticket price includes a general admission ticket to the aquarium. These tickets are non-refundable and are good for one-time admittance, Thursday, March 19 (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.), Friday, March 20 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.), and Saturday, March 21 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.). Go Behind the Scenes!
See the aquarium like you’ve never seen it before! Hinman attendees who pre-register are invited to go behind the scenes at the Georgia Aquarium at a discounted rate. Look over the tops of the Beluga whale exhibit and the largest ocean exhibit in North America, the Ocean Voyager. Observe the Commissary and Veterinary Clinic where the Georgia Aquarium staff cares for their animals and prepares their food. Also included in the purchase of this ticket is a complimentary souvenir photo at the top of an exhibit. Children ages nine and under are not permitted on this tour. Special convention tickets are available for adults ($62.00), children ages 10 through 12 ($55.75), and seniors age 55 and above ($58.50) until February 19 through the Hinman pre-registration process only. Ticket price includes a general admission ticket to the aquarium and is non-refundable.

Tutankhamun the Golden King and the Great Pharaohs Exhibit
This new exhibition will make its North American debut at the Atlanta Civic Center! Don’t miss your chance to see this amazing exhibit before it leaves in May of 2009! Fifty objects from the tomb of Tutankhamun will be featured, some of which include the gold sandals that adorned the mummies’ feet and a beautifully adorned canopic jar that mummified King Tut’s internal organs. In addition, this exhibit will showcase artifacts that highlight many of the most significant rulers of ancient Egypt, such as Khefren and Hatshepsut. Khefren’s Great Pyramid is the only remaining structure of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and Hatshepsut was the queen who became king! Pre-Registration

Only one registration form is necessary for each office, including all dentists, auxiliaries and family members. The registration form can be copied to accommodate additional registrants. Hinman accepts checks, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express for either pre-registration or registration on site.

Attendees whose pre-registration forms are postmarked or received online by Thursday, February 14, 2008, will receive registration badges and course tickets in the mail. Registrants should bring all of these materials to the meeting.

Cancellation Policy

In order to facilitate arrangements for registration, courses and special events, please submit cancellation requests as soon as possible. Cancellations must be made in writing and include the attendee′s name, address, registration badge, and course tickets. All requests must be mailed to:

Refund checks for cancellations made before March 6, 2009, will be mailed within five weeks after the meeting. All refund requests made after the conclusion of the meeting must be submitted no later than May 29, 2009, to be considered.

For those attendees unable to attend registered courses or special events, tickets may be resold to the Ticket Sales counter located in the Registration area, only if the course or special event is sold out.

Guest Policy

All guests must pay a $75 registration fee, complete a guest registration form, and can register on-site only. Guests do not have to be accompanied by a registered attendee. Registering enables guests to visit the exhibit hall and buy tickets for courses or special events. Guests do not receive continuing education credits.

* Dentists who are in their first year of practice may attend the meeting for a fee of $80 ($105 after 2/19). Dentists in their second year of practice pay $105 ($150 after 2/19). A copy of an ADA membership card or other credentials with the year of dental school graduation must be submitted with the registration form for a reduced fee. New this year, all dentist and student categories with complimentary ($0) registration fees must submit a copy of credentials for badge and tickets to be mailed. Otherwise, registration materials can be picked up on-site.

When two course fees are published, all practicing dentists pay the higher course fee. All other registrants pay the lower course fee when indicated. However, if only one fee is published, all registrants pay the same fee.

All children must register for the 2009 Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting.

Accreditation & Continuing Education Credit

The Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting has carefully selected all lecturers, exhibits, and exhibitors to be presented at the 2009 Hinman Dental Meeting. The contents of any particular program, lecture, exhibit, or handout are the responsibility of the respective lecturer or exhibitor presenting such material. The Hinman Dental Society does not endorse or approve any materials so presented.

The Hinman Dental Meeting utilizes a computerized accreditation process. Attendees who register for courses will receive a ticket listing the course and speaker for each class and a CE scan ticket. These tickets can be stored in the badge holder.

Attendees should note the CE code announced at the conclusion of each course and keep the CE scan ticket provided in the registration materials. CE certificates can be printed at the conclusion of each course, at the end of the meeting, or from www.hinman.org for up to six months following the meeting.

Computerized continuing education certificates can be printed at one of two locations during the meeting:

Ambassadors is the designated hotel service for the 2009 Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting. Specially discounted rates have been secured in several Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead hotels. Representatives from Ambassadors are ready to assist you with special requests as they relate to hotel rooms, multiple-room blocks, suites, meeting space, and food and beverage requirements.

Your Hinman hotel service team will assist you in securing your initial room block and throughout the entire booking process. Ambassadors will remind you of upcoming deadlines for deposits, individual cancellation policies, and rooming lists.

Your patronage of the Hinman hotel program is appreciated. Booking your reservations through the Hinman Hotel Service benefits all Hinman participants by enabling us to negotiate the lowest hotel rates possible. Audio Recording Sales

Audio recordings (in audio tape and MP3 formats) of selected scientific programs are available for purchase during the meeting in the entrance area of Building A. All presentations are professionally prepared and contain unedited, verbatim material. Audio recordings also are available for purchase following the meeting.

Register for the Meeting AND place an order by the early registration date of February 19th for any ten (10) courses recorded during the 2009 Hinman Dental Meeting and you will receive the following:

1) Special price of $119 for 10 courses selected by you and recorded onto one CD. Only those courses recorded with permission of the speakers will be offered. Previously, the pre-recorded courses were not customized and were recorded on audio tape cassettes.

Online Handouts

In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, we will not print handouts for the Meeting. Again this year, in advance of the Meeting, we will provide course handout materials for you to access online. These materials can be downloaded and printed. We will make all handout information available for all courses for which we receive materials from the speaker. As usual, a confirmation of your registration process will be sent to you. Included with your information will be a user name and password for accessing handout materials specific to your courses. Please review your handout information in advance of the Meeting to determine if you want to bring a printed copy with you.

Airline Baggage Check-In

Remote Airline Check-in Service (PDF)

Bypass the airport lines! Check in your baggage for departing domestic flights (AirTran, American or Delta) at the Georgia World Congress Center. This unique service allows you to check your bags and receive your boarding pass at the GWCC, leaving you more time to visit the Technical Exhibits or attend another lecture! Rates are $10 per person based upon a maximum of two bags at 50 lbs. per bag weight limit. Payment is by cash only and bags can be checked any time the day of departure, but must be checked a minimum of three hours before the flight. This service is located next to Coat and Stroller Check on Level 3 of A Building.

Pre-Enrollment: In order to expedite the check-in process, the GWCC strongly encourages attendees to pre-enroll, although not required. You can do this by sending an email to GWCC@airportbags.com to request the appropriate forms. Please make sure to reference the Hinman Dental Meeting in the subject line.

Coat and Stroller Check

A coat, briefcase and stroller check is available for a nominal fee on Level 3 of Building A, across from Room A-314.

Emergency Medical Service

Emergency medical service is on-site at the GWCC Wednesday, March 18 - Saturday, March 21.

In the Georgia World Congress Center, medical service is located at the entrance to Exhibit Hall A3. Dial 4911 from the red telephones located throughout the GWCC to report the nature and location of the emergency.

For anyone needing a wheelchair at the GWCC, go to the GWCC Information Desk located inside the main entrance to Buildings A and B. A driver’s license is required in exchange for the use of the chair.

In the Omni Hotel at CNN Center, dial 0 on house phones to reach an operator. Report the nature and location of the emergency to the operator.
