This session will cover both fundamental and emerging topics in infection control and antibiotic resistance of interest to the dental community. We will review some of the key pathogens that can be transmitted in dental settings and discuss ways to reduce the risks of that spread. We will also review the current data on antibiotic prescribing in dental practices and discuss potential options to collaborate to improve antibiotic use.
