This course will review the current practice and recommendations for pediatric and adult minimal and moderate sedation. Understanding your patient and their family is key as is utilizing both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies for a successful sedation. We will begin with a review of psychology, physiology and pharmacology and progress through monitoring, drug selection and office protocols. Complications and emergencies can and do happen at all levels of sedation and a brief review of early recognition and intervention will round out the course.
